2014 Exhibition Opening and "Photographer of the Year 2014" Awards Ceremony
I attended The Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union Federation Annual Exhibition opening on Saturday 28th June in Stockport Art Gallery, to receive some awards including the "Photographer of the Year 2014" award.
The exhibition runs until 5th August and admission is free. There are a selection of approx 150 pictures on show from the recent "Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Unions Individuals Competition" and is well worth a visit if you can make it there.
The Lancashire and Cheshire Annuals competition had six categories, Colour Print, Monochrome Print, Nature Print, Colour PDI, Monochrome PDI and Nature PDI.
Members of affiliated photography clubs, societies and organisations where invited to submit up to four pictures in each category, which where then judged by three international level adjudicators, Rod Whelans MPAGB MFIAP FRPS, Anne Greiner MPAGB and Leo Rich ARPS DPAGB.
There were a number of image awards and worker awards made. The worker with the highest total of points from the PDI entries across Colour, Monochrome and Nature was awarded The PDI worker of the year and the worker with the highest total of points from the Print entries across Colour, Monochrome and Nature was awarded The Print worker of the year 2014. And finally The worker with the highest total of points from both the PDI entries and Print entries across Colour, Monochrome and Nature was awarded "The Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union Photographer of the year award 2014".

MPAGB Award Received
I had recently been successful in my application for Masters Award MPAGB with The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.
Its customary for the local federation to present the certificate and it was a great honour to be presented with the certificate by The L&CPU.
The L&CPU awards ceremonies and exhibitions are always well run and are a reflection of the effort and attention to detail The L&CPU makes. A lot of long hours worked by a dedicated team of individuals that deserve a lot of credit both individually and also as a group for their dedication.
