The 'Ladies of Steampunk' is an online and print Magazine based in The USA and is strongly influenced by Ladies involved in The Steampunk movement.
I had spoken with the editor Sean on a number of occasions, and we both agreed it would be a great idea to do a feature on the photography I did with Emma McMurphy, Yones Bruin, Sandre de Klerk, Fiona Hawkins and Ruby Templeton-Stone in April of this year in The Netherlands. I wrote an earlier post about my time shooting the girls and that can be read here but in a nutshell, I got to photograph 5 amazing people, that were not models, but people that love to make costumes and attend steampunk events dressed as their characters.
So back to The Ladies of Steampunk magazine. Sean very kindly published a 6 page spread featuring the photography we did in Studio34x.com (blog post about the studio here) The pictures are a mix of different styles and poses, and with working with the girls through the day I tried to show each ones personality through the pictures.
Sean has done a great job designing the December magazine, and its great to see the girls pictures being published and seen and appreciatted by so many people. The amount of work the girls put in, and the attention to detail and dedication they show to their craft, they deserve all the recognition they receive.
